This will be my 2nd post after I started blogging 2 weeks ago. To be honest, I'm having hard time thinking about a topic for this post but last night something came to my mind and I decided to make it as the topic of this post.
It's been three weeks ago when me and a friend of mine stop by on a famous eatery in our school campus to buy a food to eat while we're heading to our homes. I prefer not to buy anything because I'm quite full at that time while my friend decided to buy a betamax, a popular pinoy street food made out of dried blood of chicken-once the chicken blood is dried, it will be cut into squares and then grilled. It is called Betamax because the shape resembles the old school betamax tapes.
Because of my curiosity, I asked her what does betamax tastes like whether if it's delicious or not, then she looked at me and answered, "hindi ka ba kumakain ng ganito? Ok lang naman, masarap.", and then she offered me some and goes back eating again. As far as I remember, I was still very young when the last time I ate a betamax. That's why I can't remember what it tastes like. I really don't know why I never ate that betamax again, but I'm sure I would like to eat that again.
Betamax is just one of the many favorite pinoy street foods that pinoy/Filipinos will prefer to eat to satisfy their hunger for a few pesos. It goes to show that Pinoys can be creative when it comes to preparing food and believe me or not, no food is gone to waste. Filipinos can always come up with a new recipe in order not to waste any food; the best example is the chicken. From head to foot, from external parts up to its internal parts nothing is wasted.
Pinoy street foods are not just delicious but it is also convenient, practical and best of all economical. With the increase in prices of basic food, street foods have now become part of the pinoy cuisine. That's why I'll not be surprise if Edward Cullen and his "twilight (vampire) friends" will travel here in the Philippines to buy betamax to satisfy their hunger.
